I’m not a member of any organized political party.

I’m not a member of any organized political party, I’m a Democrat!
Will Rogers.

My friends on the softer side of the aisle are once again proving Rogers’ words indubitable and I am crestfallen.

As Washington’s worst kept secret, that Karl Rove is navel-deep in the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame, finally became the ligitimate press fodder it is, the unorganized Democrats are making a complete hash of this manna from heaven.

It’s akin to what people versed in urology call premature ejaculation.

The Newsweek story confirming that White House Press Jester Scott McClellan had been fibbing for two years in saying that Karl Rove had nothing to do with Ms. Plame’s name being tossed around like a Frisbee was sufficient to get the scorned media into full lather.

And when the media is whipping up on the other guy the best place to hang out is in Dick Cheney’s bunker. Especially if you are a Democrat because you haven’t won on an issue since Bubba stalked the Oval Office.

However, the victory-starved Dems could not resist, so who do you think they trotted out to demand Rove’s resignation? Yes, the one man on the planet whose opinion is most likely to be seen as nothing more than sour grapes, John Kerry–loser extraordinaire.

In his usual succinct and straight-to-the-point manner, Senator Never-shuts-up offers this hard-hitting message on his Web site:

Mr. President, despite carefully worded denials, it is now apparent that your most senior advisor discussed the identity of an undercover CIA agent with a reporter. His clear aim was to discredit that agent’s husband who had dared to challenge the administration in the buildup to the war. You cannot remain silent. Fire Karl Rove.

Great job John, you’ve made yourself judge, jury and executioner, bored us to tears and offered an unworkable solution. Exactly why you don’t reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

The Muse usually doesn’t offer advice for free, but if you’re listening Democrats, jot this down:

Mr. President, classified information was released, you demanded answers and promised reprisals; it’s been two years and now an innocent woman sits in jail because people in your administration won’t talk. It’s time to tell the truth.

Repeat that like a mantra, don’t make it personal, and lock John Kerry in the basement of the Nation Archives and give him the last 40 years’ Federal Register to keep him occupied.

If Sun Tzu were alive today he’d explain it like this: “when a pack of hungry wolves attacks a superior enemy, do not join in the the biting because you will look foolish and accomplish little. It is better to watch your adversary be mauled than to demonstrate your own futility by trying to do it yourself.”

The Plame affair is outrageous on its face. If the American people can’t figure that out, they’ll vote for the next Bush clone anyway. Memo to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and John Kerry: you’ve already demanded the resignation of everybody but the White House pool boy, shut up and let this fester.
